Federer, Williams advance to Madrid 3rd round (Yahoo! Sports)

MADRID (AP) -- Defending champion Roger Federer looked comfortable on clay in his first match in two months Tuesday, easing past Radek Stepanek 6-3, 6-3 to reach the third round of the Madrid Open.
